EDP445 Arrested On Sex Crime Charges

BAKERSFIELD, November 5, 2026 — The Kern County District Attorney’s Office has filed four felony charges against YouTuber Bryant Turhanemmerson Moreland, known online as EDP445, stemming from an alleged incident involving a child under 14 on April 17, 2021. Moreland was arrested in Las Vegas on November 4 and will be extradited to Kern County for arraignment.

From Eagles Rants to Online Infamy

Moreland built a following on YouTube with rant videos centered largely on the Philadelphia Eagles, a persona that thrived on volume and profanity. The channel grew into a recognizable brand in the sports commentary corner of the platform, but the content shifted sharply in 2020 and 2021 when he became the target of civilian-led sting operations. A 2020 report from VladTV detailed an incident in which Moreland was catfished by someone posing as a 17-year-old girl. The following spring, a more elaborate operation allegedly arranged a meeting between Moreland and a decoy posing as a 13-year-old at the Pineridge Apartment Complex in east Bakersfield.

The 2021 Sting and a Stalled Investigation

When the 2021 allegations surfaced, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case but hit a wall. Prosecutors said the investigation stalled because reporting parties did not cooperate, and a request for additional information in January 2022 was never resubmitted. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in August 2026 that it was not actively investigating unless new information surfaced. At the time, Bakersfield police Sgt. Robert Pair warned that civilian sting operations could endanger bystanders and interfere with law enforcement’s own work, a caution that shadowed the case as it moved from internet controversy to a cold file.

A Documentary Reopens the File

The case turned this year with the release of “The Sick Mind of EDP445,” a documentary by Mike Clum. In the film, Moreland sat for an interview with Chris Hansen, the journalist known for his own sting-style confrontations. According to KGET 17 News, Moreland told Hansen, “I showed up that day trying to meet up with an underage girl.” The district attorney’s office said those on-camera statements provided the evidence needed to meet the filing threshold. “In light of recent statements made by Moreland in the documentary, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office reopened the investigation,” the office said in a statement. Prosecutors filed the criminal complaint on November 2.

The Charges and the Arrest

The complaint includes attempted lewd acts upon a child, meeting a minor for lewd purposes, contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense, and distributing or showing pornography to a minor. All four counts are felonies. With assistance from the Las Vegas Police Department, Moreland was taken into custody on November 4. Popular predator catcher JiDion, whose real name is Jidon Armani Adams, said he and his team tracked Moreland down after the warrant was issued and documented the arrest on his Instagram channel. An arraignment hearing will be scheduled once Moreland is extradited to Kern County.
