Players: The Three Suspects Described by Police

NEW YORK, July 6 — The NYPD is hunting three suspects who made off with a Ring camera during a failed robbery attempt, releasing images in the hope the public can identify them. The suspects — a woman with visible tattoos wearing a white shirt, a tattooed man wearing a baseball cap, and a man in a camouflage t-shirt — are all described by police as vicenarians, meaning they are in their twenties. Their identities remain unknown as of this report.

The trio fled the scene after stealing the camera. No arrests have been reported, and the NYPD is now asking anyone with information to come forward via the Crime Stoppers website or on X at @NYPDTips.

The suspects were captured on the very device they later stole. The images were released by police. The woman in the white shirt and the two men are now the subject of a citywide lookout, their tattoos — visible in the police photographs — serving as potential identifiers in a case that has so far yielded no names and no arrests.

Tattoos as evidence

The NYPD is betting that someone will recognise the ink on the woman’s arms or the man in the baseball cap, whose visible tattoos suggest he may be known in local parlours or gyms. The third suspect, wearing a camouflage t-shirt, is described only as a man in his twenties. No further physical description has been released.

The attempted robbery itself — foiled, it appears, only by the suspects’ decision to grab the camera and run — raises questions about how quickly these three might strike again. Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers, a programme that has long relied on anonymous tips to solve property crimes in the city.

What to watch next

The case now hinges on whether the public can put names to the faces in those images. With no arrests as of the time of this report, the NYPD’s investigation remains in its early stages, and the three suspects are still at large. Anyone with information can submit a tip anonymously through the Crime Stoppers website or via X at @NYPDTips.
