Qatar Lounge Concludes Its Presence at Art Basel in Switzerland

Basel, June 24 — The Qatar Lounge, presented by Qatar Sports Investments and QC+, in partnership with Qatar Airways, has concluded its presence at Art Basel in Basel, Switzerland, engaging a significant number of international collectors, galleries, artists, and cultural stakeholders around Qatar’s expanding arts ecosystem and the forthcoming 2027 edition of Art Basel Qatar. The Lounge brought together various elements, including hospitality, design, culinary programming, artistic collaboration, and cultural storytelling, highlighting Qatar’s continued investment in creative exchange, market development, and year-round cultural programming.

According to the record, the Lounge hosted a series of intimate events and activations, which helped to foster a sense of community among the attendees. One of the notable events hosted by the Lounge was the presentation of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League trophy.

Additionally, the Lounge featured a meet-and-greet with Wassan Al-Khudhairi, as well as an activation with Spanish artist Edgar Plans, who showcased his limited-edition collection of jerseys and posters. This collection is part of an ongoing collaboration between Qatar Sports Investments, Paris Saint-Germain, and Art Basel. Kirstin Mearns, CEO of QC+, stated that the Qatar Lounge at Art Basel in Basel provided an important platform to engage directly with the international art community.

Following the inaugural edition of Art Basel Qatar earlier this year, the presence in Basel helped to continue the momentum, deepen relationships with collectors, galleries, artists, and cultural partners, and build anticipation for the fair’s second edition in Doha in January 2027. The second edition of Art Basel Qatar will take place from 28 to 30 January 2027, with Preview Days on 26 and 27 January, and will be presented in partnership with Qatar Sports Investments and QC+.

The event is expected to attract a considerable number of attendees from the international art community, further solidifying Qatar’s position as a major player in the global arts scene. On the timeline, the conclusion of the Qatar Lounge’s presence at Art Basel in Basel marks a significant milestone in Qatar’s efforts to promote its arts ecosystem. Sources familiar with the project indicate that the Lounge’s success has helped to raise awareness about Qatar’s growing arts scene, both locally and internationally.

As the art world looks to the future, the upcoming edition of Art Basel Qatar is likely to be a major event, with many expecting it to feature a diverse range of artistic works and collaborations. As the international art community begins to look ahead to the 2027 edition of Art Basel Qatar, it is clear that the event will be a major highlight of the global arts calendar.

With its unique blend of artistic collaboration, cultural storytelling, and hospitality, the Qatar Lounge has set a high standard for future events. As the countdown begins to the second edition of Art Basel Qatar, all eyes will be on Doha as it prepares to host another successful edition of the fair.
